Recently she teamed up with The Early Learning Coalition and the Patterson Foundation to present shows in the area for “Remake Learning Days” for pre-school through grade school age children. She has done their annual Story Book Street Days in which over 4,000 books were given to families. Shortly after earning her degrees, she won positions with the Austin Symphony, The Colorado Symphony and L’Orquesta Sinfonica de Tenerife where she performed in Spain and Europe for 6 years. She also has performed with L’ Orquesta Sinfonica de Galicia, the BBC Scottish Symphony, and was a member of the Philharmonic de Gran Canaria.

Upon her return to the U.S., she played with The Naples Philharmonic, The Southwest Florida Symphony, The Florida Orchestra and later became a member of the string quartet, Musicians Out of The Box. Their CD, Music Tales, won a prestigious Parents Choice Award for outstanding Children’s music album and was nominated for a Grammy.

Passionate about music education, Carlann coaches at Pine View School and the Sarasota Orchestra Youth Programs, and in recent years created violin programs at several local schools. She also partners with local assisted living facilities to provide student performances for residents.

Also, I enjoy triathlon training and completed my first Ironman in 2019!! I’ve discovered the discipline improves all areas of my teaching and performing. Gardening is another fun and challenging hobby for me, learning and growing new plants, and I love going to airshows with my husband, Alan!!”
