Join us as we celebrate the spectacle of a 500-year-old performance art tradition, Italian street painting.  With this years theme… a little funny… and a little spooky, Halloween style!!

Come watch as hundreds of artists transform the pavement of South Pineapple Avenue into a one-of-a-kind gallery of fine art gallery. Jay Schwartz from California states, “the biggest allure of the medium is that it is a pure art form – a mix of Fine Art and Performance.

SemCon 2010

The DSCA is joining with four other groups – Downtown Improvement District (DID), Downtown Sarasota Alliance (DSA), Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce (GSCC), and Sarasota County to sponsor SemCon 2010.  This Public Design Workshop will focus on discussing plans and designs for transforming the area within the Downtown Improvement District and the Downtown Historic District.

Alderman Oaks recently hosted a "Making Sense of Veteran Benefits" Seminar.

During the program, Terry Acton, USAF Retired. shared how Sarasota County
Veteran Services provides assistance to veterans and their families with filing
claims for veterans benefits.  Seminar topics included --  Compensation for
Service Related Disabilities, Medical Benefits, Survivor Benefits,  Pension
for Wartime Veterans with Non-Service Related Disabilities, and Death Benefits.
